Engineering Education in NJ
The Stevens Institute of Technology program will start
April 13 using classrooms Middlesex College. Quantitative
Software Engineering is the study of the processes and
practices used to create software systems with an emphasis
on analysis. Students learn how to apply a process by
studying real-world case histories. Once a process is
applied it's usefulness is measured. A strong component
of the program is the use of process control analysis
and feedback. The approach is similar to that used by
Industrial Engineers in the study of manufacturing processes.
In the QSE program the focus is on the characteristics
of software systems. One example is the translation
of lose functional requirements for a system to a scale
measuring utility, cost to build and risk using the
Quality Function Deployment approach. Another is the
process of developing use-case tests and then using
Robust Design techniques to reduce the total number
of tests required by eliminating overlapping tests.

Certified
Software Engineering Professionnal
The CSEP (Certified Software Engineering Professional)
is one of the highest levels of achievement possible
among computer professionals. Many consider it the gold
standard because it was created by the IEEE Computer
Society, which has been active in developing software
engineering standards for more than 20 years.Collectively,
the IEEE standards make up the practice standards for
software engineers.
